How to convert cooking time from boneless to bone-in pork roast?

I have a 7 lb. bone-in pork roast. My recipe calls for cooking a 3.75 lb, boneless pork roast for 5 hours at 300. How much time should I allow for my roast? Thanks.

Sorry. It’s a pork shoulder roast which I intend to use for pulled pork.

My best estimate would be somewhere close to 6 hours, to reach an internal temp of at least 180-190F. You really do need to rely on a thermometer, but failing that keep an eye on the shoulder bone. When it is good, the meat will separate from the bone and you can wiggle it by hand really easily. In fact, after resting, the bone will usually pull away with a small tug.

It would help to know which cut you have, and what the end result is supposed to be. The final internal temp can vary, depending on if you want slices, or shredded for pulled pork sandwiches. A bone in roast typically takes slightly less time to cook because the bone will conduct heat to the center of the roast- so you could be talking done in anywhere from 4 1/2 hours to more than 6, depending on if you want a final internal temp of 145 or as high as 180 for a pulled pork. A little more info will get you a better answer. Sorry.
