How much sugar should be used in the filling?

I was following this recipe by weight and noticed that 99g of granulated sugar is significantly more than 1/4 of a cup (about twice as much!). Which measurement do you recommend going with?

I'd go with 50g, I expect it will be plenty sweet anyway with the milk chocolate.
