2015 has been big for us in a lot of ways—just check out our highlight reel!—but we shot more photos this year than we ever have before, on more complex sets than we've built before, with a heck of a lot of new props, new test kitchen chefs, and new stylists. We had long, long lists of ingredients to source, made many a GIF, and ate a lot of photo shoot leftovers (very gladly).
Our wonderful photographers deserve their own shout-out right here: James Ransom, Bobbi Lin, Mark Weinberg, Alpha Smoot, Linda Xiao, and Rocky Luten produce almost all of Food52's photography. (And do a pretty great job, if we do say so ourselves.)
Here are some of the times they really nailed it in 2015:
From How to DIY a Champagne Tower for the Flashiest New Year's Ever. Don't forget to check out the GIF, too.
From The Best Way to Eat Ice Cream with Cake.
From Light this Christmas Pudding on Fire (On Purpose). (This one's got a pretty great GIF, too.)
From What Happened When Cookie Monster Came to the Food52 Office. We still cannot believe this happened.
From a collection we launched in our Shop with Westwind Orchard. And this? This is just a bed that our art director and stylist Alexis Anthony made in our office cum studio.
From Erin McDowell's 10-pound Deep Dish Cherry Pie.
From Kendra Vaculin's Garlic-Orange-Rosemary Marinated Olives.
From Sarah Jampel's sunshine-y Crème Fraîche Plum Cake with Plum Caramel.
From Put Everything But the Kitchen Sink in Your Cookies. (These look and act a lot like shelves—but they're held up by paint cans!)
From shooting the Indigo Dyed Linen Pillow.
From The Best Wall Art Isn't Art at All. Not a nail was hammered for this Julia Child-style wall.
From the beachy Sea Escape collection we launched in our Shop over the summer.
From Start Saving Apricot Pits—To Make Ice Cream.
From A Gray Ice Cream That's Anything But Drab.
From The Most Flavorful Zucchini Is Also the Easiest Make-Ahead Side.
Alexis built this fort to show off the Solar Travel Light inside.
