Christmas BBQ

My family has decided to smoke some ribs for our big winter holiday dinner this year. We all love the classic Kansas City style of ribs, but I want to try combine those flavors with something to make them more reflective of traditional holiday tastes. Any ideas?

How about some sort of cranberry/honey glaze? Maybe simmered with a cinnamon stick, clove and ginger?

Some thoughts: 1) cider glaze, 2) a glaze with whiskey, mustard, pepper, nutmeg, allspice and maple syrup, 3) a rub with Chinese five-spice powder and cayenne...
