Hi!

Such a nice idea for a party :-)

What about a Risotto with white veggies like leech or cauliflower? For desert I would recommend a Mascarpone cream with fruits, a raw cheesecake or a mousse au chocolat with white chocolate?

What a great idea. Everyone dressed in white......

Menu -
Amuse bouche: white chocolate dipped jalapeños
Soup: Susan Spicer's garlic soup
Main:chicken breast stuffed with goat cheese & pear, sliced
White asparagus grilled
Cauliflower mashed
Desert: vanilla ice cream with whipped cream lightly dusted with multi colored sprinkles (its a party after all)

Delicious! Thank you!

These amazing amazing potatoes come out nice and white with the salty crust. Of course, the cilantro mojo sauce is bright green (and my favorite part of the dish), but the potatoes by themself are ridiculous. https://food52.com/recipes/22261-jose-pizarro-s-salt-crusted-potatoes-with-cilantro-mojo

So its pinic fare?
You could make vichyssoise or white gazpacho served in plastic shooter glasses, Weisswurst, type of Bavarian sausage or Boudin blanc French or Cajun sausages, German or American potato, cole slaw, or Macaroni salad. White meat chicken kebabs with tzatki or white alabama-style bbq sauce. Make a slaw or salad with a white cabbage, fennel and white radishes. Or are you looking for more upscale picnic fare?

Claudia |. May 20, 2015
These are gratis ideas! Thank you vero much! The bavarian sausages are so yummyyyyy!

A white gazpacho, a salad with hearts of palm, filet of sole or a fish roulade, celery root puree, creamed fennel and leeks, you could also do a lasagne with a béchamel and white veggies inside, any of the previously mentioned custards sound great another idea would be a coconut cake.

Claudia |. May 20, 2015
Wow! Thank you so much!

white beans (soup or a side dish), pasta with olive oil/garlic. cole slaw with interior of cabbage, fondue with a white cheese and bread cubes, mushroom lasagne with a béchamel sauce, potatoes au gratin (or califlower), egg white salad finger sandwiches, cucumber in sour cream.

I found a white bean hummus, could probably be the antipasto! thank you!!!

Omg, is the the Dîner en Blanc?! I'm pretty sure one only needs to WEAR white to that, but still....white suits, white food. Anyway, I digress. I feel like I've suggested pavlovas like 3 dozen times in these forums, but I love them so...pavlova's with a buttermilk-vanilla bean ice cream, white chocolate milk crumble, spun sugar, jordan almonds, torn sponge cake....I could go on. If you're not looking for dessert, though.....I have nothing ;)

Claudia |. May 19, 2015
yessss! Diner in Blanc! in Rome! I'm so excited, and yes, you should only wera white (and linens), but I'm kind of a nerd and want to make it all super white. I'm almost sure it is going to be pavolovas for dessert, maybe peanut butter as someone suggested.

There are truly a huge number of choices you might go for with all white food. Here are some of my recipes on Food52 that fit your criteria, and are really delicious. [I didn't include my Coconut Pound Cake because although it doesn't have much color, it appears more yellow than white because of the eggs. However, a coconut layer cake would be a sensational dessert, and all snowy white. Brandade de Morue, https://food52.com/recipes/25096-brandade-de-morue; Montrachet Tarts, https://food52.com/recipes/25180-montrachet-tarts; Marcia's Noodle Kugel, https://food52.com/recipes/7861-marcia-s-noodle-kugel; Gratineed Pear Souffle with Fresh Pear Coulis, https://food52.com/recipes/32296-gratineed-pear-souffle-with-fresh-pear-coulis; Poached Pears with Lime Sabayon, https://food52.com/recipes/14352-poached-pears-with-lime-sabayon.
I also didn't include my Cream of Garlic Soup because it's rather wintry, and I'm guessing this dinner is going to happen soon so you'll want more summery things.

Cauliflower panacotta is a great side, or cauliflower pure. Also risotto with mascarpone. White curry (http://www.pbs.org/food/recipes/white-curry/). Coconut and white chocolate truffles for desert.

great! thanks!!!!

You're getting lots of ideas here. How are you going to select for a total menu? and, BTW, is there a theme or guiding principle beyond "totally white"?

Claudia |. May 19, 2015
Hi Nancy, nope. It is going to be a community urban picnic, all dressed in white, white linens and white food!

Nancy May 19, 2015
Just musing on menu choices...there both basics (pasta Alfredo with chicken breast) & intriguing outliers suggested here (white curry, sautéed squid). If you have enough cooks, space, budget, offer choices at each course. If not, provide a familiar, recognizable main course (say, chicken) & more unusual dishes (cauliflower panacotta) around it.

Meaghan F. May 18, 2015
My recipe for sautéed squid would work, if your guests aren't squeamish like that... You can sub white pepper for the black pepper and drizzle a little lemon juice as the garnish to keep the dish totally white.

White Gazpacho.

Also, an old fashioned, but delicious Oeufs a la Neige - it even sounds white (roughly “Snow Eggs”,) aka Floating Island. For maximum whiteness, you could serve the caramel sauce separately in a pitcher at the table. http://www.davidlebovitz.com/2015/04/oeufs-a-la-neige-snow-eggs-floating-island-recipe/

Pasta Alfredo with grilled chicken breast.
Miso maifun with white eggplant sautéed with ginger and a rice wine garlic butter reduction.
Garlic mashed potatoes.
Artichoke hearts, hearts of palm and celery root salad with shallots and ginger miso dressing

This is really fun! Anything with alfredo sauce, parsnip puree, cauliflower soup (https://food52.com/recipes/15247-paul-bertolli-s-cauliflower-soup). I remember an article from Bon Appetit maybe last year which was full of white vegetable dishes.

white asparagus is in season now! you could roast them, and then use them as an appetizer or in a risotto for a main dish. for desserts: panna cotta is very white, perhaps with a white chocolate or coconut finish instead of the more traditional berry topping.

Beautiful seasonal ideas! Thank you thank you Thank you!

Thank you! The peanut butter pavlova and the white gazpacho are wowwwwwww!

Oh, this is a fun idea! I once had a cooking instructor (course was intermediate French) who didn't say a word about it, but all her dishes were white-dominant. I only realized in retrospect. Two favorites I remember and made often are: mushroom-scallion soup that could be served hot or cold, and tasted of one of the dominant ingredients at each temperature. I've lost the recipe, but it sounds easy enough to add scallions to a good mushroom soup recipe. And a gorgeous Pavlova, whose whipped cream covered the fruit (sometimes berries, sometimes peaches).
