When the 10-day weather report looks like an audition for storm cloud emojis, the snow on the ground is a hazy shade of brownish-yuck, and that puddle was just a little bit deeper than you'd anticipated, the answer is clear: pasta. Miles and piles of oozy, cheesy, gooey pasta. (Feel better yet?)

Spaghetti Carbonara is always my go to comfort pasta dish. I have been making it since I was 16 and now my daughter has learned to make it. Salty, creamy, cheesy yum.

Our family's favorite pasta is fresh tagliarini (ribbon pasta) found in North Beach, San Francisco (or fresh organic noodles from our local market) with generous amounts of fresh, chopped garlic (5 cloves), butter (1/2 cube) and cream (1/4 - 1/2 cup)!!!! If there are leftovers, use the next morning and saute them until crispy, and top with two over easy eggs!!! OOHHH!!!
