Summer salads aren't always vegetal—this grain salad has harissa, lentils, and a handful of fresh herbs:

Spiced and spicy MOGHRABIEH WITH HARISSA AND LENTILS. Can't quite explain how good this one tastes. Try it to believe it. New recipe live on the blog now but here is the short version / Make spicy cooking liquid - soften garlic and onion in EVO, then add 1-2 tbsp Harissa, 2 cups passata, 4 cups water, and salt. Add mograhbieh (or used pearl couscous or fregola) and simmer in the sauce until al dente. Cook black lentils. Combine lentils with the moghrabieh, and 1 cup of chopped herbs such as mint, cilantro/cori and scallions. Serve with grated ricotta salata or other hard cheese! #f52contest #f52grams @food52 #feedfeed #vscofood #huffposttaste #yahoofood #instafood #smudgeeats #heytucker #thatsdarling #salad #saladsfordays #vegetarian #vegan #foodporn #foodblogging #brooklyn #newyork #askinbrooklyn @thefeedfeed

Strawberries, feta, and peas are the base for this sweet-salty salad:

A bright, garlicky, dill dressing makes beets downright craveable:

This simple summer salad of tomatoes, burrata, and pesto is also one of the best:
