Last-Minute Sides To Support A Holiday Feast

December 19, 2017

Between glistening hams and tender briskets, towering cakes, and sparkling cocktails, you’d be forgiven for neglecting to plan your holiday sides. These kitchen stalwarts just aren’t as flashy as the mains and finales, and probably won’t prompt the same ‘oohs’ and ‘ahs’ from your dinner guests. But there’s no way the show can go on without at least a couple of supportive sides. Fluffy mashed potatoes, maple-glazed squash, or cheesy gratins bring a variety of textures and flavors to the table, rounding out the perfect holiday feast.

Thankfully, you only need an hour (or less!) to make some of our favorite holiday-worthy supporting dishes. So don't stress about leaving the sides for last-minute! We have recipes that come together in 60, 30, and even 20 minutes—and no one will be the wiser.
